After his loss at UFC 143, Nick Diaz tested positive for Marijuana Metabolites, this may result in up to a year suspension! This should be a sign to the athletic commissions and even the UFC officials as to the necessity to change the rules of drug testing.
Diaz had a legit medical marijuana card and has tried to be honest about his use but commisions won't have it, yet Dan Henderson is okay to use testosterone because of a "medical condition". This wouldn't bother me so much if it wasn't for the fact that marijuana is in no way a PED, so there is no cheating at all. Yes, this is Diaz fault for being stupid and smoking before a fight, I'm not excusing his actions at all.
UFC will be losing what would be one of the biggest matches of the year (maybe two if Diaz won the rematch and got to fight GSP) over a dirty pot test. In the WWE a positive pot test will net you a $2500 fine and that's it, this would be a much better way for MMA to police this issue.
